Doesn't Delivery for the Price

I am fairly tech savvy, and for the price tag on this bot, it significantly under delivers. 1.) It does NOT work with Google Home devices, even though it states that it does.
2.) The Samsung Connect interface you are forced to use (because it won't work with the better Samsung Smart Things) is a joke. It is not user friendly, lacks important features, and is basically a dumber version of SmartThings.
3.) It lets you customize no features on the bot, and has NO factory reset. This is a huge obstacle for when this bot glitches, and IT WILL.
4.) It won't clean dark area rugs. We have 2 exact same make model area rugs: 1 cream, 1 black trim. It will not clean the black one at all. It thinks its going off a ledge and bounces back. This is hugely problematic and a feature that cannot be turned off.
5.) Had it for 6 months and it has already disconnected from our router and app interface, runs on its own schedule now, and wont let us reset the vacuum to reprogram it.... IT LITERALLY tells us NO (in vaders voice). Funny the first time, but not worth it for $800.
buy a neato or roomba. I have been routinely disappointed in ALL of samsungs start tech, besides their phones.

I bought this as a gift for my wife.. she loves it and enjoys knowing that we can take one more thing off of the to do list, it's really alot quieter than we thought it would be and is doing very well. No issues and with connecting to my smartthings app on my device made it awesome. Thank you Samsung!

Love the sound effects - but not for pet owners

I love that this machine has the Vader sound effects.
Things we like.
That it has an app that will set it running when we are away and that we can set a schedule. The remote is useful for when Vader gets lost looking for home base.
Cleaning is ok and like storm troopers it is yet to hit any furniture with anything but a glancing blow.
The things I don't like about it. Pet hair is it's nemesis; even though we have it set to run every day.
It gets blocked constantly. I will have to clean the chute out at least 3 time a day.
The brush is constantly needing declogging.
There is no indication that it needs emptying or that the brushes need cleaning. It will continue on its cycle, even though it's not picking up any dirt b/c it's blocked. This alone will prevent me from buying another.
My old Romba would at least stop and beep at me when it's brushes were clogged or the tray needed emptying.

I bought this to replace my other Samsung RoboVac, this one is far superior with the Wi-Fi and SmartThings functions, I am also impressed with the Edge Cleaning function, I noticed that both my normal Samsung RoboVac my older (competitor) just either pushed stuff into the corners or just didn't get them, Lord Vader does not have this issue, he used the Force (power edge) to pull the nastys from the edges.
I am going to sell my Samsung RoboVac for the Storm Trooper so I can have them both...
Also, my pet Ferret's love to attach and ride this vacuum
Great job Samsung, you hit this one out of the park.

This vacuum is awesome!!

Not only does it work, it is a Star Wars themed Powerbot. I use it everyday and am amazed how much dirt and hair it picks up. I use the App to see where it vacuumed during the day and it shows it. It is very smart. It changes where it goes on a daily basis. One day it will do the bedrooms and the next the kitchen. If it does not finish it will go back and recharge then finish. I honestly did not think this thing would work as good as it has. It is well worth the money. It helps keep up with the dirt/hair in the house. I have one cat. If you are not sure, buy it, you will not regret it!! I have Darth Vadar, he is cool....

Love it enough that the "cons" don't really matter

I have tried one robot vacuum before purchasing this one. The random pattern drove me nuts and it didn't clean very well so it was returned. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but when I saw this advertised I was intrigued. What drew me in most was the pattern technology. I had watched video reviews but there wasn't many out there, but most were positive so I figured I'd give this one a try and if it didn't work out id be done with the bots and go back to manual labor :)
The cons that I mention in the title are: the battery life doesn't seem to be very long for mine. Full suction and light suction seem to get about the same run time. Mine runs about 30-45 mins then has to recharge. Then when it's charging it doesn't charge fully, only goes up to two bars instead of 3 when it restarts, so then it only lasts about 20-30 mins before needing juice. I do have to say that it finds its way back to the doc very well. Out of the MANY times it's cleaned, I only had to help it once! Pretty impressive compared to my last bot.
Second con is that it won't make it up on my shag area rug that I have. Sometimes it tries and tries and will finally make it up, but then other times it gives up and goes around it. If I'm here I will give him a push to get him up there. Again not a deal breaker for me. He does go over the rubber rug in my kitchen and some of the shorter pile rugs.
Sound effects are pretty cool. They sometimes startle you if you aren't expecting them :)
We have two dogs and two cats and it has NEVER gotten clogged with hair like my prior bot. It doesn't seem to tangle on the brush either. So that is impressive to me as well.
I honestly have not used my dyson vac the whole time I've had this thing (about a month). But we haven't had any spills of cereal or anything like that that's needed cleaned. But I'm sure I could use the spot mode in that situation. Haven't gotten to use that feature yet.
YES. The WiFi always disconnects and I can't ever control Vader with my phone. But I don't mind that.
I like how he slows down and moves cautiously when something is in front of him, rather than banging into everything. You can stand in front of him and he will spot you and go around. That's nice for when the dogs are laying around, he just goes right around them.
Dust bin is very easy to empty. I usually empty after each cleaning. I wash the filter out after every 3-4 cleanings. You just rinse it and let it dry.
He does tend to be a little loud on the full suction mode. But that doesn't bother me either.
We have mainly hard wood floors , but carpet in one of our rooms and he cleans good on all surfaces.
